3 IMPORTANT DO’S & 3 DON’TS FOR FURNITURE MARKETERS

It's not news that brands are flooding the Social media platform on a regular basis. While some of them deliver posts that make us go WOW, others make us go YIKES! So, if you are nurturing your own furniture brand’s social media presence, make sure you WOW your visitors. Simply follow these Dos and Don'ts for a successful venture:

Social media is the hottest platform to market your products and it is bound to remain that way for the foreseeable future. Furniture brands are building quite a social media presence. So, you have to make sure you stay ahead:

DO’s:

1. VISUAL CONTENT IS KING:

Visual content like images, videos, and infographics is easier for your audience to connect with than text-based posts. Whether it’s decorating tips, interior design advice or simply product images, platforms like Pinterest can be a particularly strong outlet. Social media is the ideal outlet to showcase your store, your staff, fundraising or charity events, community involvement, and so much more.

2. PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR FOLLOWERS:

Pay close attention to what your followers are saying, both in the comments section and through their engagement. It’s absolutely important to follow up when people comment and reach out to them before they lose interest. Pinpoint what’s getting interaction and driving traffic.

3. PLANNING IS WINNING:

Always plan what content to share, when to share and how often to reply to a negative comment. Part of having a plan is outlining goals and tracking the progress against those goals regularly. Always showcase your most unique or best-selling pieces of furniture on the social media pages.

DON’TS:

1. DON’T POST TOO MUCH:

This is a major mistake many marketers make. They exhaust their followers with too many posts in a short time. Posting daily is a good practice but make sure to post only valuable content and relevant to your target audience. Once again, it’s advisable to showcase your furniture product with the most unique design. This way you will not only engage your existing followers, but you’ll also end up with new ones.

2. DON’T POST TOO LITTLE:

Avoiding publishing content for weeks at a time is a terrible thing to do as a marketer. In the competitive arena that is the furniture industry, multiple posts every day is the only way to stay ahead. But if you are not sure what to post, just do promotional stuff. Make a schedule regarding what and how many posts to submit every day.

3. DON’T TURN YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA PAGE INTO A SALES PITCH:

Make sure your social media posts, your advertisements, and your press releases don’t sound the same. When you’re posting content on social media, it’s okay to sound simple. At least, it will not look like blatant advertising. Keep it informal and informative. Include celebratory posts during the biggest festivals/holidays.
